The EVAP system employs a charcoal canister type system, Fig. 3. The charcoal canister system leads fuel vapor into the charcoal canister which uses
activated carbon to absorb hydrocarbons (HC) emissions.
The separated HC emissions is drawn into the throttle body to be burnt together with the mixture in the combustion chamber when the bi-metal vacuum
switching valve (BVSV) opens according to the engine coolant temperature.
