SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A squawk may be present when the brake pedal is depressed. The noise is caused by the metering valve spring chattering in the brake combination valve.
DIAGNOSIS:
Depress the brake pedal several times to verify the complaint. If the noise is present, perform the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves installing a revised metering valve onto the brake combination valve.
CAUTION:
USE CARE WHEN PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE. ANY DIRT THAT ENTERS THE COMBINATION VALVE MAY IMPEDE THE
OPERATION OF THE VALVE.

Clean the combination valve in the area around the metering valve with an aerosol brake parts cleaner to prevent dirt from entering the valve when
it is disassembled (see Figure 1).
CAUTION:
DO NOT ALLOW BRAKE CLEANER TO COME IN CONTACT WITH ANY INTERNAL COMBINATION VALVE COMPONENTS.

Remove the metering valve (see Figure 1).
