Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
1. Remove transmission as outlined under Transmission/Service and Repair then the flywheel and clutch or torque converter and driveplate
assemblies.
2. Remove oil pan as outlined under Oil Pan/Service and Repair then the rear seal retainer.

3. Remove and discard old seal and gasket.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten seal retainer bolts to specifications.
b. Apply a small amount of suitable silicone rubber adhesive sealant at seal split line.
