Tailgate Cracking On Top Inner Ends

MODELS:

1994-1996 (BR) Ram Truck

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Vehicles may exhibit a condition where the sheet metal is cracking along the top inner ends of the tailgate. The cracking starts on the upper corner and
continues along the end of the tailgate. This condition can occur on either or both sides.

DIAGNOSIS:

Release the tailgate latch and open the tailgate. Inspect both right and left upper corners of the tailgate ends for any signs of cracks.

Condition A If crack(s) exceed a length of 1A in., the tailgate should be replaced (see Parts Required), then proceed to the Repair Procedure for
Condition A.

Condition B If crack(s) are less then 1A long, repair the tailgate using the Repair Procedure for Condition B.
