Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Exhaust Pipe Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Saturate the bolts and nuts with heat valve lubricant. Allow 5 minutes for penetration.

3. Remove the bolts and nuts from the exhaust pipe to turbocharger.
4. Remove the clamp nuts.
5. Disconnect the exhaust pipe support hanger.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect the exhaust pipe support hangers.
2. Align the exhaust pipe with the turbocharger exhaust pipe and the catalytic converter. Install the bolts and nuts. Tighten the nuts to 34 N.m (25 ft.
lbs.) torque.
3. Tighten the clamp nuts to 43 N.m (32 ft. lbs.) torque.
4. Install the exhaust pipe support clamps and nuts. Tighten the nuts to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.) torque.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Start the engine and inspect for exhaust leaks and exhaust system contact with the body panels. Adjust the alignment if needed.
