Using a long screwdriver positioned under the left torsion bar as shown in Figure 2, carefully push down to open a space between the hinge and the
torsion bar.

NOTE:

DO NOT PUSH THE END OF THE TORSION BAR OUT OF THE HINGE OR LET THE TORSION BAR SLIP OFF THE END OF
THE SCREWDRIVER.

4.

Insert a Nylon Spacer, PN 4296762, in the space between the left side hinge and torsion bar as shown in Figure 2.

5.

Repeat operation on right side.

6.

Remove support and install the cable restraint. Operate deck lid several times to verify proper operation.
