Failure of air conditioning controls on subject vehicles may be diagnosed and corrected using the following chart:
Failure Mode
Correction
1.
Air directional pushbutton will Replace air directional not stay depressed. Defrost, floor switch.
bi-level.
2.
No heat (vacuum remains on water Replace air directional valve). switch.
3.
No temperature control (cable disReplace housing and lever connected from temperature lever). assembly.
4.
A/C pushbutton stays depressed. Replace A/C pushbutton switch.
5.
High effort recirculation (5 lbs. +).

Auto adjust clip on temperature Readjust cable is misadjusted.

Pin on A/C control binds on Replace control. third lever.

Bent or incorrectly routed See Item 6. temperature cable.

High effort temperature control. Locate the temperature cable above the accelera- ^ Bent or incorrectly routed tor pedal and gently pull
