SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Drop out of speed control and/or torque converter lock-up may occur with movement of the turn signal switch. Using the lane change function of the

DIAGNOSIS
1.
Remove the lower steering column cover and the hazard warning flasher.
2.
Turn on the hazard flasher switch.

3.
Using a digital volt/ohmmeter set on the 1K ohm scale, measure the resistance between the D4 (18wt) circuit and a good body ground. The D4
(18wt) circuit can be found in the 6-way wiring connector to the stop lamp switch (Figure 1). The reading should be 0.33 K ohms +/- 0.03 K ohms.
NOTE:
BEFORE MEASURING RESISTANCE WITH A DIGITAL VOLT/OHMMETER, A ZERO POINT MUST BE ESTABLISHED.
THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY CROSSING THE LEADS OF THE OHMMETER AND NOTING THE READING ON
THE DIGITAL DISPLAY. THIS IS THE ZERO POINT. ALL READINGS SHOULD BE CALCULATED FROM THIS POINT.
4.
If the reading is outside the specified range, proceed with the following repair procedure.
