Cruise Control Module: Testing and Inspection
Valve Body Test

1986-87 MINI-VANS/WAGONS

1. Connect negative lead of a voltmeter to chassis ground with ignition and speed control switches On and engine not running.
2. Disconnect four-way connector from valve body and measure voltage at female terminal with blue/red wire. If voltmeter does not indicate 12 volts,

repair loose connections or replace main harness as necessary.

3. Connect a suitable jumper wire between male and female terminals of blue/red wire. If voltmeter does not indicate 12 volts at three remaining male

valve body terminal, replace valve body. To avoid serious engine damage and personal injury, the engine must be off when performing the
remainder of this test.

4. Disconnect vacuum hose from inlet side of vacuum reservoir and connect a hand-held vacuum pump to the reservoir.
5. Apply a minimum 10 inches Hg vacuum to reservoir, then, using suitable  jumper wires, ground male valve body terminals with black, brown/red

and white/red wires in order. When each ground connection is made, a click should be heard at the valve body and when the last connection is
made, the throttle should become fully applied and remain so for at least one minute. If test results are not as specified, replace valve body.
