Timing Chain Cover Installation & Oil Seal Replacement

1. Ensure mating surfaces of chain case cover are clean and free of burrs. Crankshaft oil seal must be removed to ensure correct oil pump

engagement.

2. Remove crankshaft oil seal using crankshaft removal tool No. C-4991, or equivalent, as shown in Fig. 18. Use caution not to damage crankshaft

seal surface of cover.
