Compressor Clutch Coil: Service and Repair
With 10PA17 Compressor
REMOVAL
1.
Remove a/c drive belt
2.
Disconnect compressor clutch wires from the harness.
3.
Remove compressor mounting bolts and lift compressor from its mounting bracket.
4.
Rotate the compressor assembly to gain access to the front of the compressor clutch. Support the compressor so that the weight of the compressor
is not on the hoses.
CAUTION: Do not let the compressor hang from the hoses.

Remove the shaft nut and lock washer. A band type oil filter wrench may be placed around the clutch plate to secure it while loosening the nut.
7.
Tap the clutch plate with a plastic hammer and remove the clutch plate and shim(s). DO NOT use a screwdriver to pry the clutch plate off of the
compressor shaft.

Remove and save the shaft shim(s).
