Failure to clean the area around the power steering pump tube nut and low pressure supply elbow at the power steering pump could allow dirt to enter
the power steering hydraulic system during power steering pressure hose replacement.
5. Remove the low pressure supply elbow from the power steering pump to gain access to the power steering pressure hose tube nut (Figure 14).
6. Unthread the tube nut and remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
7. Raise the vehicle on an appropriate hoist.
8. Remove the plastic underbody shield to gain access to the power steering pressure hose. (Figure 15).
