Crankshaft Position Sensor - Removal
REMOVAL
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located at the right-rear side of the engine block (1). It is positioned and bolted into a machined hole in the
engine block.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the starter motor See: Starting and Charging/Starting System/Starter Motor/Service and Repair/Starter - Removal
4. Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector (1).
5. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolt (1).
6. Using a slight twisting motion, remove the CKP sensor from the engine block.
