Flash: MIL Illumination For P0339 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Intermittent
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built with a 6.1 L engine with a 6 speed manual transmission (Sales Codes ESF and DEC) built before January 19,
2009 (MDH 0119XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may complain of a MIL illumination. Upon further investigation the Technician may find that P0339 - Crankshaft Position Sensor
Intermittent has been set.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (StarSCAN(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as
designed. If DTC's other then the one listed above are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this
bulletin.
If the vehicle operator describes or experiences the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
