About the Charger
Dodge has used the Charger name since 1966. From 1982 to 1987 it was a front-wheel-drive economy hatchback, similar to the Omni 024. After a twenty-year break it returned for 2006 as a rear-wheel-drive saloon on the LX platform, with a 5.7 Hemi in the R/T and a 6.1 Hemi in the SRT8.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1986: the 1.6 and 2.2-litre fours
- 2006–2010: the 2.7 and 3.5-litre V6s and the 5.7 and 6.1-litre Hemi V8s
- 2011: the 3.6-litre V6
Tip: the Magnum uses the same LX platform and engines.
