Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
To adjust the Throttle Position Sensor, proceed as follows:
Accelerator Cable Adjustment
1.
Loosen the accelerator cable.
Adjustment Screw Locations
2.
Loosen the speed adjusting screws SAS 1 and SAS 2 sufficiently to close the throttle valve completely. Record the number of turns loosened for
each screw (to facilitate return to the initial setting).
NOTE: Turning the screw counter clockwise closes the valve. At this time, the fast idle control should have been released (the lever not resting
on the fast idle cam).
Throttle Position Sensor Connector
3.
Connect voltmeter (digital type) between 2 and 3 of TPS connector pins.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the TPS connector from the chassis harness.
4.
Turn the ignition switch to ON. (Do Not Start engine.)
5.
Measure the TPS output voltage.
TPS output voltage: 250 mV
