Torsion Bar: Service and Repair
WAGON
1. Remove torsion axle and arm assembly, along with the lateral rod, from vehicle as outlined under "Coil Spring, Replace" procedure.

2. Drive out arm bushing using tool MB991045 or equivalent.
3. Drive out lateral rod busing using tool MB991045 or equivalent.
4. Reverse procedure to reassemble, noting the following:
a. When pressing in lateral rod bushing, ensure that projection of bushing is equal on both left and right sides. The difference of the amount of
projection should be no greater than 0.004 in.

b. Press arm bushing into trailing arm from the chamfered part so that hole is at position shown.
c. Ensure that difference in bushing projection distance (A - B) does not exceed 0.03 in.
d. Ensure that stopper within bushing does not project outward from the inner pipe.
