On the reverse side is a copy of a letter being sent to owners of

1984 model year vehicles as listed above. The letter refers to replacement engine air cleaner filter requirements for those vehicles.
IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE INFORMATION ENGINE AIR CLEANER FILTER REPLACEMENT 1984 DODGE AND PLYMOUTH COLT
CARS 1.4L AND 1.6L CARBURETED ENGINES

Dear Chrysler Import Car Owner:

We have recently become aware of aftermarket replacement parts information that is extremely important to the proper maintenance of your 1984 Colt.

To our knowledge, Chrysler Mopar filter part number MD 603800 is the only replacement engine air cleaner filter which will fit properly in the air
cleaner on your car and do the required filtering job to prevent dirt entering the engine. MD 603800 is the original equipment filter, and it is available
from Chrysler/Plymouth and Dodge dealers.

We are not aware of any other aftermarket manufacturers' replacement filters presently available that will fit properly-- these are the types of filters
commonly available from service stations, department and discount stores, hardware and automotive supply stores, etc. In some cases, information in
catalogs or on the aftermarket filter packages indicate that these filters are a proper replacement for your car. But, that information may not be correct --
these filters may not fit properly to keep dirt from entering the engine.

The problem with filters that do not fit properly is that dirt in the air can bypass them because they do not have the necessary seals at the top and bottom
of the filter. The dirt can then enter the carburetor and the engine, and may eventually cause engine damage if dirt is allowed to enter for an extended
period of time.

Chrysler recommends the following action to ensure that you use a proper replacement engine air cleaner filter for your car and prevent dirt entering your
engine:

Each time you replace the filter on your car (recommended every 30,000 miles), purchase and install only the Mopar MD 603800
replacement filter.

If some other type replacement filter is now on your car, replace it with a Mopar MD 603800 filter as soon as possible.

If it is claimed that another type filter will fit your car, you should verify that there are seals at both the top and bottom of the filter before
considering using it.

Your satisfaction with our product is very important to Chrysler. The above information is provided to help ensure continuing satisfaction with your
1984 Colt.
