c. Using hand pressure, push tensioner toward mounting nut to ensure that belt is in mesh with camshaft sprocket, tighten tensioner nut, then

tighten tensioner pivot bolt. If pivot bolt is tightened before nut, tensioner may rotate with bolt releasing tension on timing belt.

d. Press outward on belt in run between oil pump and camshaft sprockets, as shown in Fig. 37, and check clearance between belt and timing belt

cover. Clearance should be approximately .23 inch.

Rotate crankshaft clockwise 2 revolutions and ensure timing marks are correctly aligned.

Reverse remaining procedure to complete installation, then adjust valves as outlined.
