SUBJECT:

1983 COLT GTS PACKAGE FOR SPOILERS ATTACHMENT

A small number of 1983 Colt CGS equipped vehicles were shipped with spoilers that may have a problem with the attaching bolts. The corner attaching
bolts may separate from the spoiler causing a gap between the spoiler and the liftgate.

Our records indicate that you received one or more of these vehicles that may have a problem with the spoiler.

Enclosed with this letter are the necessary parts and instructions to install a new spoiler. Also enclosed is a VIN listing of the involved vehicles.

Listed vehicles still in your inventory should be serviced immediately prior to sale. If you have delivered a listed vehicle, Please contact the customer to
have a replacement spoiler installed as soon as possible. Process a warranty claim through the normal warranty system for installation. Use labor
operation 23-02-06-90 with failure code 54 and a time allowance of .5 hours.

SPOILER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.

Open liftgate.

2.

Remove liftgate trim panel.

3.

Remove and discard the four retaining nuts and sealing washers.

4.

Remove spoiler.

5.

Check condition of paint around bolt holes. Apply zinc rich primer if necessary before installation of new spoiler.

6.

Check for new sealing washers on new spoiler studs.

7.

Install new spoiler on liftgate with new sealing nuts.

8.

Hand tighten sealing nuts to snug up spoiler.

9.

Check spoiler for proper alignment and fit. Finish tightening sealing nuts to 6-9 ft.lbs. Tighten both outboard nuts first.

10.

Reinstall liftgate trim panel.

11.

Before installing tape stripe on the spoiler, clean the spoiler with naptha or isopropyl alcohol.

12.

Install spoiler tape stripe.

13.

Install spoiler "GTS" decal.

14.

Pack old spoiler in carton from new spoiler.

15.

Place furnished shipping label on carton.

16.

Ship old spoiler U.P.S. collect.
