SYMPTOM/CONDITION
To correct case gasket fluid leaks, the gasket material for the automatic transmission case gasket has been changed from a joint sheet gasket to a rubber
coated metal gasket. The new gasket is included in kit part no. MD730803.
The transmissions with this change are the KM170, KM171, KM172, KM175, KM175-2-AQT and KM176. They were all built after March 12, 1988
(T/A No. EL2316 and up).
As a result of the case gasket change, the differential and transfer shaft end play (preload) adjusting method has been revised.
