Conversion packages are now available to accommodate a customer who wishes to convert his low altitude vehicle for improved high altitude engine
performance (4,000 feet above sea level).
Vehicles with low altitude package transferred to service in high altitude areas may exhibit undesirable driveability.. The installation of this high altitude
conversion package is voluntary and at the owner's expense.

CONVERSION PROCEDURE
To improve the above altitude-related condition, the basic timing must be advanced an additional 5~. The correct timing specifications are shown in
Figure 1. On vehicles not so equipped, an altitude compensator must be installed to prevent an overrich condition from occurring.

Using the procedure outlined in the appropriate service manual, reset basic timing to the following specifications.

Install a dual diaphragm vacuum advance assembly supplied in package as outlined in the appropriate service manual.
