Vacuum Pump: Service and Repair
Vacuum Pump Replacement
Pump Assembly Removal
1. Remove nuts attaching vacuum pump to adapter.

2. Remove vacuum pump from adapter. If necessary, turn pump gear back and forth to disengage pump shaft from coupling.
3. Inspect adapter O-ring. Replace O-ring if damaged in any way.
4. Lube adapter O-ring with engine oil.
Aligning Pump Shaft Drive Tangs
5. Note position of drive slots in coupling. Rotate drive gear to align tangs on vacuum pump shaft with coupling.
