Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Intake Manifold Cover
1.
Remove intercooler outlet duct air inlet tube.
2.
Remove throttle control bracket and linkage.
3.
Disconnect high pressure lines from the injectors.
4.
Remove the line clamp bolts from the intake cover.
5.
Remove lines from the injection pump.
6.
Disconnect intake manifold heater.
7.
Disconnect fuel heater ground wire from intake manifold.
8.
Loosen air crossover hose clamp and remove crossover mounting bolts, then remove air crossover tube.
9.
Remove intake manifold heater.
10.
Remove intake manifold cover attaching bolts, then the manifold cover and gasket.
11.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.
Some of the manifold bolt holes are drilled through and must be sealed. Apply liquid Teflon sealant to the bolts. Install bolts and
tighten to specifications.
b.
Install and bleed high pressure fuel lines.
