Fuel Filter: Testing and Inspection
Water-In-Fuel Sensor R & R
NOTE: A plugged or blocked fuel/water separator filter can exhibit the following driveability symptoms:

Hard starting
^
Engine cannot reach rated rpm
^
Miss-fire under load
^
Blue or white smoke from the exhaust
1.
Connect one T-fitting on the inlet side and one on the outlet side of the fuel/water separator filter.
2.
Connect one fuel gauge to each T-fitting.
3.
There should be less than 3 psi (21 kPa) pressure drop between the inlet and outlet of the fuel/water separator filter.
4.
If there is a greater pressure drop than specified, replace the filter.
