Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) R & R

1.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2.

Remove air cleaner assembly.

3.

Disconnect the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) wiring connector.

4.

Remove the mounting screws (2), and remove TPS from throttle shaft.

5.

Install new TPS on throttle shaft and install screws, torquing them to 20 lb-in (2 Nm).

6.

Connect the TPS wiring connector.

7.

Install air cleaner assembly.

8.

Connect the negative battery cable.
