CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION -- 4 WHEEL DRIVE TRANSFER CASE
Dear Dodge Truck Owner:
The satisfaction of our customers is very important to Chrysler. Because of this, we are offering a special service without charge to owners of certain 4
wheel driveequipped 1989 Dodge Dakota trucks. The service is needed to prevent possible oil leakage from the transfer case.
Your truck, whose Vehicle Identification Number is shown on the enclosed form, is one of the affected vehicles. We ask that you arrange for this free
service without delay.
To ensure that leakage will not occur, your dealer will inspect the transfer case and confirm that a snap ring used to retain the front output shaft bearing is
seated properly. If necessary, the dealer will reposition the snap ring.
The inspection will take only a few minutes. If a repair is required, the work can be completed in about one our. However, additional time may be
required depending on how service appointments are scheduled and processed. To arrange for this important service:

Contact your Dodge Truck dealer as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for the free service. We ask that you contact the dealer who
sold you the truck. However, if necessary, the service can be performed by any Dodge or Chrysler-Plymouth dealer.

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies
the vehicle and recall for which service is required.
If you have any problem obtaining the needed service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service
Assistance" in your Operator's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt servicing of your truck.
