This bulletin applies only to Dakota trucks built prior to MDH 07-28-08. Vehicles built after this can be identified by the presence of a diverter valve
mounted on a bracket near the air pump.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Vehicles without a diverter valve may exhibit an intermittent or constant curb idle speed that is higher than the specified rpm.
DIAGNOSIS
Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose at the carburetor vacuum kicker. If this corrects the condition, proceed with the repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
This procedure consists of installing a diode jumper wiring assembly between the ASRV solenoid and the vacuum electric switch. This will prevent
electrical feedback to the electronic spark advance module, which causes the carburetor throttle kicker to be incorrectly energized (extended).
