Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove left lower instrument panel cover.
3.
If equipped with automatic transmission, disconnect gear position indicator cable.
4.
Remove lower panel reinforcement, then steering column to support bracket attaching nuts.
5.
Lower column and disconnect ignition switch electrical connector.
6.
Position ignition lock cylinder in the Lock position.
7.
Tape ignition switch rod to steering column to prevent rod from falling out of lock cylinder assembly.
8.
Remove two ignition switch attaching screws, then the switch.
9.
Reverse procedure to install.
