Wind Noise in Cab Interior Originating from Lower Portion of Windshield
MODELS:
1993-1995 (AN) Dakota
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Wind noise in interior of cab originating from the lower portion of the windshield/instrument panel area, primarily lower right corner.
DIAGNOSIS:
Operating the vehicle at speeds between 30-55 MPH, listen for a whistling or rushing type noise. If noise is heard, remove the windshield wipers, washer
nozzles, the cowl grille and screen (8 screws hold the cowl grille ). With a helper, use an air hose to apply air pressure under the windshield glass and
weld flange in the suspected areas. From the interior, feel for a rush of air. If air leak is verified proceed with repair procedure (Figure 1).

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves rolling the instrument panel down and sealing the weld flange seam, and sealing between the sheetmetal panels as needed.

Remove left and right A-pillar garnish moldings.
2.
Remove left and right cowl side trim panels.
3.
Remove steering column cover.
4.
Lower the steering column.
5.
At the base of windshield, loosen and remove the 5 flange attachment screws.
