SYMPTOM/CONDITION
The following symptoms may be due to a misformed secondary seal retainer:
^
High effort when opening or closing door.
^
Rubbing noise from "A" pillar area when door is opened or closed.
^
Secondary seal looks wrinkled, rubbed, torn, has come loose, or has been pulled off.
DIAGNOSIS
Close the door slowly and mark the areas where the edge of the door contacts the secondary seal (the scrub areas). The secondary seal outer lip will fit
under the door edge on a "good" car.
Make sure the secondary seal is properly installed on the retainer. A new seal may be required if the old one is torn or damaged.
