Throttle Body Replacement

Throttle Body Removal And Replacement

Removal

1. Disconnect negative battery terminal, and remove air cleaner hose clamp to throttle body. Remove air cleaner to throttle body hose.
2. Remove throttle cable and transaxle linkage. 
3. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

-

Idle Air Control (IAC) motor

4. Disconnect the vacuum lines from the throttle body.
5. Remove throttle body mounting bolts (2) and lift throttle body off of intake plenum.
6. Discard old intake gasket.

 
 Installation

1. Clean the throttle body and intake manifold mounting surface.
2. Using a new gasket, install the throttle body onto the intake manifold, and torque the mounting bolts to 225 lb-in (25.4 Nm).
3. Connect the throttle body vacuum hoses.
4. Connect the following electrical connectors:

-

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

-

Idle Air Control (IAC) motor

5. Attach throttle cable. 
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Perform fuel system pressure test to check for leaks. 
8. Install the air cleaner to throttle body hose.
