1. Inspect the right and left door scuff plates for any bowing and/or poor retention. Was there any bowing and/or lack of retention at the middle of the

scuff plate (Fig 1)?

a. Yes >>> Proceed to Step # 2.

b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply, further diagnosis required.

2. Remove the scuff plate. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body >

Interior > PLATE, Scuff, Door > Removal.

3. Pull back the door weatherstrip seal (Fig. 2).
