Valve Deactivation Solenoid: Service and Repair
Multiple Displacement Solenoid - Installation
INSTALLATION
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In
addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High
Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury See: Hybrid Drive
Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Service Precautions
1. Verify that the Multi Displacement System (MDS) bores are free of debris before installing the MDS solenoid(s).
2. Install the MDS solenoid(s) (3) making sure the solenoid is completely seated into the cylinder block.
3. Install the MDS solenoid retaining bolt(s) (2) and tighten to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect the MDS electrical connector to the solenoid(s) (3).
5. Install the foam insulator pad (1).
6. Install the intake manifold See: Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Intake Manifold - Installation
7. Perform the HEV high voltage power up procedure See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/Battery System
- High Voltage Power Up
