Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
Removal
REMOVAL - HEV
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In
addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High
Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury See: Hybrid Drive

The EVAP canister (1) is located at the front of the fuel tank. The fuel tank isolation valve (2) and the Evaporative System Integrity Monitor (ESIM)
switch (3) are attached to the EVAP canister.
1. Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair
2. Perform the HEV high voltage power down procedure See: Hybrid Drive Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Service and Repair/Battery
System - High Voltage Power Down
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Disconnect the rubber hose (1) at the ESIM switch.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) at the ESIM switch.
6. Disconnect the fuel tank isolation valve quick-connect fitting (3) at the EVAP canister.
