Tie, Cable, 5-1/2 in.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves strapping the wiper motor harness to the plastic wiper motor cover using a cable tie.

1.

Remove the wiper module assembly. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Group 8K, for information regarding Wiper Motor Removal And
Installation procedures.

2.

Slide a thin piece of metal or wood between the plastic motor cover and the motor can to protect the painted finish on the motor can during the
next step of the procedure.

3.

Using a 3 mm (1/8 in.) drill bit, drill a hole into the plastic motor cover in the location specified in Figure 2. Be sure the piece of metal or wood is
properly in place behind the cover to protect the motor finish from the drill bit.

4.

Using cable tie p/n 04856500, strap the wiper motor wiring harness to the plastic cover through the hole drilled in Step 3.

5.

Install the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Group 8K, for information regarding Wiper Motor Removal
And Installation procedures.

6.

Turn the ignition key to the RUN position and turn the wipers on LOW speed. Verify that the noise has been eliminated.
