Drill a 1/4" hole in the cowl top sheet metal, just outboard of the oval slot in the cowl screen support (see Figure 1). Make sure to clean up metal
shavings.

Place shield under cowl screen support, with inboard edge indexed to the center line of the notch near the center of the cowl screen support, and
the rear edge against the plenum wall (see Figure 1).

Mark plastic shield in area of (2) 1/4" holes and drill holes in plastic shield. Use caution not to hit washer bottle.

7.

Position shield under cowl screen support and fasten with two push-in fasteners (PN 6030441).

NOTE:

MAKE SURE TO FASTEN SECURELY TO PREVENT ANY RATTLES.

8.

Lower hood to check for clearance between the hood hinge and the water shield. Trim the shield to provide clearance if necessary.

9.

Apply silicone seal as required to completely seal around shield mounting fasteners, and the joint between the shield and the plenum.

10.

Install cowl top screen (making sure screen is flush with windshield), and wiper arm assemblies. Do not install screw in right outboard cowl screen
top area. Discard if originally equipped.
