Balance Shaft Timing Chain Tension Adjustment.
c. When adjusting balance shaft timing chain tension, position a shim .039 inch thick by 2.75 inches long between tensioner and chain. Push
tensioner and shim against timing chain with a force of 5.5-6.6 lbs., refer to Figure above. With force applied to timing chain, torque top
tensioner bolt, then the bottom tensioner bolt to 8.75 ft. lbs.
