Engine Block Heater - Installation

3.3/3.8L Engine

3.3/3.8L ENGINE

1. Clean block core hole and heater seat.
2. Insert heater assembly with element loop positioned upward. 
3. With block heater seated, tighten center screw securely to assure a positive seal.
4. Install power cord plug (2) to block heater (1).
5. Fill cooling system with coolant to the proper levelSee: Cooling System/Service and Repair.

4.0L Engine

4.0L ENGINE

1. Clean block core hole and heater seat.
2. Insert heater assembly (1) into cylinder block (4).
3. Install mounting screw (3) and tighten to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
4. Install power cord plug (2) to block heater (1).
5. Fill cooling system with coolant to the proper levelSee: Cooling System/Service and Repair
