3. Install the seat back See: Seat Back/Service and Repair/Seat Back - Installation.

First Row

REMOVAL

WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat

air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to
discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the
proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: Left seat shown in illustrations. Right seat similar.

OUTBOARD SIDE

1. If equipped with power seats, disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, disengage the retaining tabs that secure the top of the plastic insert (3) to the outboard seat cushion shield

(1).

3. Disengage the retaining tabs that secure the insert to the side of the seat cushion side shield by sliding the insert straight upward.
4. Disengage the seat belt (2) from the insert and remove the insert.

5. Remove the bolt (4) that secures the seat belt (2) to the seat and position the seat belt out of the way.
6. Remove the two screws (3) that secure the rear of the seat cushion side shield (1) to the seat.
7. Disengage the retaining tabs that secure the center of the seat cushion side shield to the seat by carefully pulling the center of the shield straight out

from the side of the seat.

8. Disengage the retaining tabs that secure the front of the seat cushion side shield to the seat by simultaneously sliding the side shield upward and

forward.

9. Remove the seat cushion side shield. If equipped with power seats, disconnect the wire harness connector from the power seat switch (5).
