Temperature Warning Lamp/Indicator: Testing and Inspection
Coolant Temperature Indicator
If the lamp is not lit when engine is being cranked:
-
check for a defective bulb,
-
open in the light circuit,
-
or a defective ignition switch.
If the lamp is lit when the engine is running:
-
check for overheated cooling system,
-
defective temperature switch,
-
or wiring between lamp and switch for short to ground.
