Engine Mount: Adjustments
Fig. 1 Engine Mounting
Fig. 2 Left Insulator Movement
CAUTION: The engine mounts incorporate slotted bolt holes to permit side to side positioning of the engine thereby affecting the length of the
driveshaft. Failure to properly position engine may result in extensive damage to the engine or driveshafts.
NOTE: The left engine mount insulator is sleeved to provide lateral movement adjustment with engine weight removed or not, Figs. 1 and 2.
1. Loosen the right engine mount vertical attaching bolt with the engine and transaxle supported with a suitable jack to relieve load on motor mounts.
2. Loosen the front engine mount bracket to front crossmember bolts.
3. Loosen the left engine mount through bolt. This bolt must be loose, but still engaged in the weldnut. This allows the two-piece sleeve to slide in
the engine mount.
4. Pry the engine right or left to attain proper driveshaft length. Make sure the left engine mount two-piece slider tube moves with respect to the
aluminum sleeve for centering to be effective. Ferer to Drive Shaft for driveshaft identification and related assembly length measuring.
5. Torque right engine mount insulator vertical bolts to 100 ft. lbs and the yoke nut to 75 ft. lbs. Then tighten front engine mount bolts & nuts to 40
ft. lbs and left engine through bolt to 55 ft. lbs.
6. Recheck driveshaft length.
