NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO NOV. 3, 1995 (MDH 11O3XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may develop dings in the sliding door(s) outer panel from the inside-out in the area of the latch. These dings may be caused by the sliding
door latch contacting the outer door panel.
DIAGNOSIS:
Visually inspect the rear outer surface of the sliding doors in the area of the latch, if any dings from the inside-out are visible perform the Repair
Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves repairing dings, that were formed from the inside-out in the area of the sliding door latch(es) and installing revised latch(es).
1.
Remove the sliding door trim panel.
2.
Remove the water shield.
3.
Open the sliding door to the ajar position.
4.
Disengage the clip holding the linkage to the rear latch.
5.
Remove screws holding rear latch to sliding door end frame.
6.
Separate the sliding door rear latch from the door through the rear access hole.
7.
Repair all dent(s) that were formed from the inside-out in the area of the sliding door latch using standard body repair methods.
NOTE:
THE SCREWS ATTACHING THE LATCH TO THE SLIDING DOOR HAVE A ONE USE THREAD LOCKING MATERIAL ON THEM, NEW
SCREWS (P/N 06504212) MUST BE USED WHEN INSTALLING THE REVISED LATCH.
8.
Place the revised sliding door rear latch (use the appropriate P/N listed in the Parts Required section of this bulletin) in position on door through
the rear access hole.
9.
Install new screws (P/N 06504212) to hold the rear latch to the sliding door.
10.
Move the link to the rear latch as far rearward as possible1 then engage the clip to hold the link to rear latch.
11.
Verify the sliding door operation.
