GENERATOR/POWER STEERING/WATER PUMP BELT

1. The Poly-V serpentine generator/power steering and water pump belt has an adjusting screw on the alternator mounting bracket Fig. 29 to

maintain proper belt tension. To remove or install this belt, release tension by loosening the alternator mounting bolt A and adjusting bolt locknut
Be then loosen adjusting bolt Fig. 30. Reverse procedure to install and tighten belt to specified tension.

2. Torque bolts to specifications,

Generator Adjusting Strap Bolt - 23 Nm (200 in.lbs.)

Generator Adjusting Strap Mounting Bolt - 41 Nm (30 ft.lbs.)

^

Generator Bracket Bolt - 41 Nm (30 ft.lbs.)

^

Generator Mounting Pivot Nut - 41 Nm (30 ft.lbs.)

AIR CONDITIONING BELT

1. Remove the alternator/power steering pump and water pump drive belt to gain access to the air conditioning drive belt. 
2. To remove and install the air conditioning compressor drive belt, first loosen the tensioner pulley lock nut, then turn the adjusting screw to raise or

lower the tensioner pulley assembly Fig. 29. To adjust the air conditioning drive belt, loosen the tensioner pulley nut and adjust belt tension by
tightening adjusting screw. Torque pulley nut to 54 Nm (40 ft.lbs.) after adjustment.
