SUBJECT:
MIL On For Misfire DTC - MAP Value Stored In Freeze Frame And Similar Conditions Window May Be Incorrect
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2002 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid/300M
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO APRIL 19, 2002 (MDH 0419XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
If MAP was greater than 51kPa at the time of any misfire detection, MAP value stored in Freeze Frame and Similar Conditions Window may be
erroneous
DIAGNOSIS:
If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If
the condition(s) can be duplicated, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Flash the PCM using the MDS2 (Mopar Diagnostic System) and DRBIII(R).
NOTE:
DUE TO THE PCM REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE, A DTC MAY BE SET IN OTHER MODULES (TCM, BCM, MIC, SKIM, ETC.)
WITHIN THE VEHICLE, IF SO EQUIPPED. SOME DTC'S MAY CAUSE THE MEL TO ILLUMINATE. ALL DTC'S RELATE TO A LOSS OF
COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE MODULE THAT IS BEING REPROGRAMMED. CHECK ALL MODULES, RECORD THE FAULTS, AND
ERASE THESE FAULTS PRIOR TO RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO THE CUSTOMER. ERASE ANY FAULTS IN THE PCM ONLY
AFTER ALL OTHER MODULES HAVE HAD THEIR FAULTS ERASED.
