Cold Start Idle Cycling Or Radiator Steaming At Idle
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software and replacing the MAP sensor.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 5.7L engine (sales code EZB) and domestic market emissions (sales code NAS) that were built on or
before December 1, 2004 (MDH 1201XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The vehicle may experience one or both of the following conditions:

Cold start idle cycling after a minimum eight hour soak. This condition will occur in ambient temperature between 6.6° C (20° F) and 21.1° C (70°
F). The idle cycling will begin right after start-up and can last as long as one and a half minutes (1.5 minutes).

Radiator steaming while vehicle is idling (not moving).

NOTE:
When replacing the MAP sensor first inspect the four digit build date on the side of the replacement MAP sensor. If the build date is 2944 or less a
new MAP sensor must be ordered. The first three characters are the day of the year, the fourth character is the year, ie. 2944 is the 294th day of 2004.
