Nitro 2WD V6-4.0L (2007)
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or
service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before
performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions could
result in an accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or death.
NOTE: Take the proper precautions to protect the front face of the instrument panel from cosmetic damage during this service procedure.
1. Remove the instrument panel and place it on a workbench.
2. Remove the three screws (3) that secure the defroster duct (2) to the instrument panel (1) and remove the duct.
Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Position the defroster duct (2) into the instrument panel (1).
2. Install the three screws (3) that secure the defroster duct to the instrument panel. Tighten the screws to 1.2 Nm (10 in. lbs.).
3. Install the instrument panel.
