SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Noise in the bucket seat on subject model vehicles may be experienced under certain conditions of mating frame and hardware parts, and may result in a
rattle and/or a squeak, usually while the vehicle is in motion over a moderate to lightly rough road surface. Use the following diagnosis to isolate the
cause.
DIAGNOSIS
A.
Rattles
Usually caused by vibrating metal-to-metal contact in an unoccupied seat resulting from:
1.
Pivot bolt loose fit in back frame hole produces rattle from metal-to-metal contact.
2.
Recliner assembly has loose mounting bolts.
3..
Seat or seat track mounting bolts loose.
B.
Squeaks
Usually caused by sliding metal-to-metal contact resulting from seat structure flexing under load (occupied).
