Diagnostic Connector - ABS: Description and Operation
Rear Wheel Antilock Brakes
OPERATION
The Data Link Connector (DLC) is attached to the lower portion of the instrument panel left of the steering column. This connector is the new
OBDII J-1962 DLC. It is a 16-way connector that houses circuits to diagnose any module on board that can interface with a diagnostic scan tool
(DRB III/MDS). It also contains the diagnostic terminal for the Rear Wheel Antilock Brakes (RWAL) module and the terminal for performing the
rolls test on the rear Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS). Terminal 13 of the 16-way DLC is utilized to initiate diagnostics for the RWAL module and is
connected to the CAB through Terminal 12. Terminal 8 of the 16-way DLC is utilized for the rear WSS rolls test.
CIRCUIT OPERATION
Circuit B112 from cavity 12 of the RWAL control module and circuit B113 from the rear wheel speed sensor connect to the data link connector.
