Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Master Cylinder Replacement

REMOVAL

1. Remove brake lines from master cylinder.
2. Remove rear antilock valve and combination valve. See: Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve/Service and Repair 
3. Remove master cylinder from mounting studs on power brake booster.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:  Bleed cylinder on bench before installing it in vehicle.

1. Position master cylinder on power brake booster mounting studs.
2. Install  combination  valve  and  mounting bracket.
3. Install mounting nuts and tighten to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
4. Install brake line and tighten to proper torque.
5. Fill and bleed brake system. See: Brake Bleeding/Service and Repair
